University Canada West is an innovative business and technology-oriented institution located in the heart of vibrant Vancouver. Established in 2004, UCW offers a range of career-focused programs including the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, Associate of Arts and Master of Business Administration. Courses are offered at our two downtown Vancouver campuses and online too. Offering courses online brings flexibility to education, allowing those who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to gain respected qualifications.

University Canada West is honoured to be rated and ranked by a number of external parties and higher-education rating systems.

QS Stars

In September 2021, University Canada West (UCW) received an overall 5 Star rating from QS Stars higher education rating system.

UCW is the third university in Canada, and the first in British Columbia, to receive a 5 Star rating from QS Stars. There are only a total of seven institutions in the United States and Canada that have received a 5 Star rating.

As part of the QS Stars audit process, institutions receive an overall rating of between zero and 5+ stars, as well as a rating in at least eight of 13 key areas. UCW’s scores included:

• Online Learning: 5 Stars
• Social Impact: 5 Stars
• Inclusiveness: 5 Stars
• Global Engagement: 4 Stars

 

UCW also received 5 Stars in the Specialist Criteria category for its Master of Business Administration degree program.

 

Other Rankings

University Canada West has been added to the 2023 edition of The Career Directory, Canada’s longest-running employment guide for new graduates. Each year, the editorial team at Canada’s Top 100 Employers project reviews thousands of employers to determine the academic qualifications they actively seek in young job-seekers. The result is The Career Directory, a resource guide that helps students and new graduates find jobs that make the most of their university degree or college diploma.

University Canada West has two easily accessible campuses in downtown Vancouver. Our stunning new Vancouver House Campus, located at 1461 Granville St. and our West Pender Campus, located at 626 West Pender St. in the historic London Building.

Vancouver House Campus

Our new campus at Vancouver House is in one of the highest-profile developments in Vancouver’s recent history. The campus includes more than 90,000 square feet of space in two of the podium buildings in the iconic Vancouver House development, a globally recognized project designed by architect Bjarke Ingels of BIG.

Vancouver House is in the Beach District, Vancouver’s newest neighbourhood, and is near Granville Island, Sunset Beach, English Bay and Vancouver’s 28-kilometre seawall, the world’s longest uninterrupted waterfront path.

 

West Pender Campus

Our West Pender Campus currently occupies six floors of The London Building, a heritage office building that dates back to the early part of the 20th century. It is in the heart of Vancouver’s financial district and just steps away from public transit, including the Waterfront SkyTrain Station, bus routes and the SeaBus terminal. The vibrant and lively neighbourhood is full of restaurants, stores, entertainment options, shopping centres and fitness facilities.
